Gina was a three-sport star at Trinity Christian High School in Las Vegas, Nevada, where she played basketball, volleyball, and softball, all of which she helped her team win a state championship.

Gina began her professional career as a Muay Thai fighter after graduating from college, and she quickly gained national prominence for her achievements. Following her 12-1-1 record in Muay Thai fights, Carano took on Leticia Pestova in the first-ever sanctioned female MMA fight with World Extreme Fighting, which she won in 38 seconds.

In “Strikeforce: Triple Threat,” Carano defeated Elaina Maxwell by unanimous decision in the first female battle.

When Carano beat Julie Kedzie in a Showtime EliteXC bout on February 10, 2007, it was dubbed “fight of the night” and Showtime’s first televised female fight.

Strikeforce’s contract with Gina ran out in August of that year. Since her last professional competition in August of 2009, she has been out of the game.

It was in the cult classic “Ring Girls” from 2005 that Carano made her acting debut. The story of five American ladies from Las Vegas who took on the world’s top Muay Thai fighters served as inspiration for the film.

Carano starred as “Crush” on NBC’s “American Gladiators” after serving as a coach on “Fight Girls,” an Oxygen reality series, in 2007.

Gina got her big break in Steven Soderbergh’s spy thriller “Haywire,” in which she played the primary character Mallory Kane, in September of that year.

‘In the Blood’ cast Carano in February of this year (released 2014). John Stockwell is behind the camera for this action thriller. During their Caribbean vacation, the husband of Gina’s character goes missing.

A member of Diplomatic Security Service (DSS) Special Agent Luke Hobbs’ team in 2013’s “Fast & Furious 6,” Gina appeared (Dwayne Johnson). Carano was openly urged to embrace the Black Lives Matter movement by Twitter users in August 2020. Rather than bucking the trend, she labeled her detractors “cowards and bullies,” and “liked” messages that denigrated the Black Lives Matter movement. She was accused of racism on the internet as a result.
