After five long years, the second season of the mysterious and deceptively hideous anime, Made in Abyss, is finally here! To see the new episodes in English when they show in Japan on July 6, 2022, you’ll need to sign up for an account with the anime streaming service HIDIVE, which premiered the first season on Prime Video. Here’s everything you need to know about Season 2 of Made in Abyss: The Golden City of the Scorching Sun AKA Season 1.

Made In Abyss Season 2 Plot

So far, little information regarding the upcoming second season of “Made in Abyss” has been made public, but we do know that it will take place after the first season and feature film “Dawn of the Deep Soul.” The sixth tier of the Abyss is where the manga’s story is expected to pick up, and the anime is expected to follow suit. The movie is the only way for fans to properly comprehend the plot.

To get fans excited for the upcoming season, the “Made in Abyss” team posted a teaser image on Twitter. Laputa, a character from the manga who has yet to appear in the anime, appears in this episode. Those who want a taste of what’s to come in the second season of the manga can start with Volume 6.

The cast of “Made in Abyss” Season 2 has yet to be revealed. Miyu Tomita played Riko and Mariya Ise played Reg in the original Japanese dub, however, the show has subsequently been dubbed in English as well. To the outside world, Tomita is best remembered as the voice of Gabriel in “Gabriel DropOut,” while Ise is best recognized for her roles in “Hunter x Hunter” and “Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt.”

“Darling in the Franxx” and “Charger Girl Ju-den Chan” star Brittany Lauda, who has also lent her voice to other characters, notably Riko in the English version of Riko. With her as Reg’s English voice, Luci Christian, who has had a much more successful voice acting career thus far, joins her in the role. The sheep Hiro Sohma from “Fruits Basket” and the chef Yuki Yoshino from “Food Wars!” are two characters whom fans may recognize Christian as.

As several of the cast members are expected to return for the upcoming video game, it appears that the core cast will return for Season 2 as well.

Made In Abyss Season 2 Release Date

Season 2 of “Made in Abyss” has finally been given an air date after first being formally announced in 2019. The year is 2022, at least. In terms of the publication date, “Made in Abyss: The Golden Town of the Relentless Day” hasn’t been announced, but we do know the title. In addition to the second season, a video game based on “Made in Abyss: Binary Star Falling into Darkness” will be released in 2022 for the PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC platforms (via ComicBook).

Since its debut in 2012, Akihito Tsukushi’s manga has been released regularly. As of this writing, there are nine volumes, but the series is still running on, with a few more chapters being uploaded on Web Comic Gamma. First released in 2017, the anime has yet to match its manga counterpart in terms of quality.

Where can I find the first season of the show?

While Prime Video is streaming the first season, HIDIVE has the two recap movies, and the sequel movie, and will be the sole location to stream the upcoming season. However, if you don’t want to miss any of it, you’ll need to watch the third movie, Journey’s Dawn, which is a continuation of Season 1.
