Grey’s Anatomy’s upcoming 19th season will feature Alexis Floyd from Inventing Anna as a cast member.
Simone Griffin, a first-year surgical resident at Grey Sloan, will be played by the actress, according to Deadline. Although she was born and raised in Seattle, she has never considered working at Grey Sloan Hospital because of a “sad personal past” with the facility.
Floyd will appear on the show on a regular basis.
On her first day on the show, she said: “It is a genre-redefining programme that remains masterfully committed to a wide range of themes, including diversity, relevance, and sensitivity, like all of Shonda Rhimes’ other works. It’s an incredible honour and a lot of joy to be a part of the cast in its 19th season.”
In Inventing Anna, the actress played Neff Davis earlier this year. Anna Delvey, a real-life German heiress who conned a number of New York’s elite, is the subject of a popular Netflix miniseries starring Floyd, who plays a New York concierge who befriended the con artist.
Season 19 of Grey’s Anatomy will see Teddy (Kim Raver) and Owen Hunt (Kevin McKidd) reunite.
In season 18, the couple was seen fleeing on an aircraft with their two children when it was found that Owen had been distributing drugs to veterans in order to help them take their own lives.
Her voice trembled, “I mean, look, I hope that’s not the way we end it.” “These two still have a lot of story left to tell. Then again, who knows? By the end of September, you need to keep viewers interested enough to tune in. A few more tales could be recounted, and I believe they are.”
She went on to say: “I can’t wait for the new season. It’s like a bomb going off, and what’s going to happen next? What other show has a runtime of 19 years?”
