1000’s of individuals fleeing violence in Myanmar have crossed into neighbouring India’s north-eastern state of Mizoram. Amongst them are law enforcement officials who defied orders to shoot their fellow residents protesting the nation’s army coup. They now stay in hiding and concern for the protection of their households again dwelling. Though locals and authorities within the state of Mizoram have sympathy for the refugees, with whom they share shut ethnic ties, India’s federal authorities needs to stem the tide of these coming in.
